Vacation Rental/Short-Term Rental Rules and Regulations

At a regular meeting on the Bingen City Council on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 the City of Bingen established Bingen Municipal Code Chapter 5.16 Vacation Rentals.  This code creates a process and sets rules and regulations for having a vacation rental (also known as a short-term rental) in the City of Bingen.  The number of permits is capped at 32 and all vacation rentals must be in compliance. Failure to comply will results in penalties outlined in BMC 5.16.110.

To apply for a Vacation Rental Permit, please complete and submit the following items, along with all paperwork that is linked below.

  • Vacation Rental Business License: Visit the Washington State Department of Revenue (dor.wa.gov) to obtain a Washington State business license. The license must have a City of Bingen endorsement and an NAICS code for Short-Term Rental. Submit a copy of the business license with your Vacation Rental application.
  • City of Bingen Vacation Rental Application: The application needs to be completed, signed and submitted along with:
    • Parking Diagram and Photos of interior and exterior parking spaces
    • Documentation of liability insurance as required by RCW 64.37.050.
    • Proof of garbage service
  • City of Bingen Vacation Rental Self-Inspection
  • City of Bingen Vacation Rental Fees: $125 application fee due at the time of submission.
  • City of Bingen Neighboring Properties Notice: This should be completed and photocopied to provide to your neighbors
